...an art jam to close out 2008...

Dear Art Lovers and Art Fans,

As 2008 comes to a close, I would like to take this time to invite you to our Winter Open Studios and to share great news with you.

On
Sat, Dec 6, and Sun, Dec 7th, the TALLER TUPAC AMARU will host an Art Jam at my home, 1505 33rd Ave. Oakland, CA 94601. Come through for tamales, beer, live printmaking demos, awesome art, children's drawing and a report back about our recent trip to Mexico City (Sat. 1pm). The hours for the Open Studio will be 11-6 pm on both days! Featuring artwork by Jesus Barraza, Melanie Cervantes and myself. This event is family friendly!

Also on Dec. 6th, I will be on a panel at the African American Museum and Library (Oakland) @ 3pm. more info here

This year was especially productive for me. I completed a set of posters for CodePink (see right) and a poster for the 1st National Black Latino Summit, which took place this past Oct. in downtown LA.  Read more here.

I was also involved with projects in LA, Denver, New York, Austin and Chicago. Next year is Vancouver, Toronto and Rome!

In addition to the various new works of art, I was recently featured in UTNE Magazine and Colorlines Magazine. I was extremely honored to be considered one of the countries 50 visionaries.

On a final note, if you are traveling this holiday season, try to check out the exhibits listed below. I am currently in six shows around the country (LA, DC, SF, NYC, Austin)

You can always subscribe to my blog by clicking here.

Thanks for all you do! In Unity & Art,
